1.      The PadelShooter important information before starting

  • The PadelShooter 3A is a machine with some changes / features compared to the PadelShooter 1. The battery is external and the PadelShooter 3A has an extra simple remote control with only “On” and “Off” buttons which can stop / start shooting which is very useful because you don’t need to pause the machine with your phone. Also the frequency of the PadelShooter 3A could be set faster than the PadelShooter 1 which is especially useful when you want to shoot balls to 2 players, they both could be busy with hitting balls and they don’t need to wait for the other player.
  • Some padel courts (for example blue “Mondo” courts) are made of a kind of plastic that forms a hard slippery layer around the shooting wheels. After some time the balls will be shot with less speed (slippery, so less grip on the balls) and finally possibly ball blocks. If this happens, the wheels should be made rougher. De Racketclub has a very good solution for this. If this happens, contact De Racketclub and we help you how to solve this.
  • The machine app will be a bit “overwhelming” because you can set the machine almost as perfect as you want. Many details could be set in the “Config screen” and saved once, so the PadelShooter will use your preferred settings every time you use the machine. From app version 6.x there is a new screen “Start here” (Easy use) for controlling the machine with hardly any knowledge, so this is a perfect way to start working with the Padelshooter.
  • All the speed settings are a percentage of the maximum speed of the machine. In the Config screen there is an important value for “Max Speed”, which is default set to a number “100”. If you see that ALL the standard trainings are too fast or too slow, you can easily change all trainings in one time by changing this “Max Speed” to a higher/lower number. This could also be used when playing outside and there is high wind (from front or back). Another usage could be for playing tennis with your Padelshooter. Even though not all trainings in the Padelshooter app are suitable for tennis, many trainings could be used to play on a tenniscourt by setting the Max Speed to a higher value which is more suitable for tennis (maximum is “250”).
  • The trainings could be made perfect for all level players. If you found in the inbuilt trainings (Trainings screen) that changing the settings is better for your level, you can make that permanent, by setting these “best settings” in the Config screen for every training, so you don’t need to change every time you start working with the machine. You can make preferred settings for Single play (1 player) or for Double play (2 players), often for doubles the frequency of balls is higher and the area of the court is wider. When selecting “1” (Single player) or “2” (Doubles players) in the Main screen, it respectively uses the standard settings that you made.
  • The settings of Speed, Frequency, Width and Height have a value from 0-100. This is a % and means that 0% is the lowest and 100% the highest value. The Speed value is a % of the Max Speed (in Config screen). The Spin value is from -50 (topspin) to +50 (backspin). The Frequency is the pause between balls shooting (higher is less pause). The Width is the horizontal area of the padelcourt (0 is totally left, 100 is totally right). The Height defines how high the ball will be shot, with 1 limitation which is the Net position, if the Net position is higher than the Height the ball will NEVER be shot below this Net position in the inbuilt trainings screens “Trainings” and “Start Here”. In the Config screen there is a setting “Pause level”, which adds an extra pause only after every high ball in the Trainings screen (0=no pause, 100=2 secs extra pause), in Trainings screen some trainings are a combination of shots where it needs some extra pause after the high balls because high balls need longer time to arrive at player than low balls and also sometimes you want the high ball to first bounce to the back wall before hitting.
  • In the Config screen you can find for every training a “Net” setting. This “Net” setting is used in the “Trainings” and “Start Here” screens and controls the height of the lowest position to shoot balls, this is often the net. For every training the PadelShooter won’t play balls BELOW the “Net” position. So, if you change the “Height” during play and it won’t go lower, probably the “Net” setting for that training is higher than the “Height”. Sometimes you only want high balls between 2 heights (a lowest position and a highest position). The height for the balls is set by the “Height” setting and the lowest position for a training could be set with this “Net” setting. The “Net” position is very useful when you play random height balls but you want to do this with a lower speed. If you don’t set the “Net” position higher, many balls will be shot in the net (because the speed is set lower!), setting “Net” higher, will protect the machine from shooting in the net. Several trainings move (randomly) between a lowest and a highest position. The highest position could be set by the “Height” and the lowest position could be set by the “Net” in the Config screen. After changing, don’t forget to save the Config settings by “Write for Single” (settings for 1 player) or “Write for Doubles” (settings for 2 players).
  • In the “Start Here” screen, you can select the Left side or the Right side of the padel court or the whole court (Left and Right court selected). In the “Trainings” screen, this Left and Right side of the court is also available but here is also a “Limit Left” and “Limit Right”. This is for choosing just a part of the horizontal padel court with a %. The horizontal court is from 0% (absolute left position) to 100% (absolute right position), so if you only want to play at the right side of the court, you can set Limit Left=50% and Limit Right=100%, for left side of court Limit Left=0% and Limit Right=50%. But you can also choose other parts of the court in % to only play in that area. Remember that, when limiting the court, all trainings use the “Width” then in just that area. If you limit the court to right side and you want to play in the whole right side, then set “Width” to 100, 100 is then 100% of the right side area.
  • The position of the PadelShooter should be at the other side of the net (of the players) in the horizontal middle as close as possible to the back glass. When setting the training to “Fixed” (at Width=50) and the “Limit Left” to 0 and “Limit Right” to 100, the PadelShooter should shot exactly at the middle service line. But you are sure free to change the position to your needs 😊.
  • To find the exact middle of the court, you can use the Calibrate function (in Config screen). Then the balls will be shot in exactly the middle of the court. This Calibrate tool can also be used to find the exact value for “Max Speed”, which is the maximum speed that the Padelshooter uses for padel, the Speed % in all trainings is just a % of this Max Speed value (in Config screen). With the Calibrate tool, the machine shoots balls at the “T” of the other side. If many balls are too short, the Max Speed should be set higher, if many balls are too deep, the Max Speed should be set lower.
  • The settings in “Trainings” screen could be changed by moving the “ball” in the 5 sliders (the value above will change), but you can also change the values above by typing the exact number and then save it by pressing ENTER button. After changing the settings, press again the training to use the new settings and start that training by pressing “Play” button. These settings are only changed during this training session. If you want to store it permanent, go to the Config screen to set all settings permanent for all trainings.
  • In the Trainings screen, some buttons have a “~”, which means this is a variable number. So, “Bandeja~ – Volley” training means 1 volley and a variable number of bandejas (1-10, you don’t know how much every time).
  • The PadelShooter 3A works with an external Lithium battery. Included is a charger with a small connector that should be put in the hole of the battery for charging. The battery also has a (bigger) round connection for the cable to connect the battery with the machine. Connect the cable to the battery and set the switch to the right (“DC”). For charging, you only need to take the battery and connect it to the charger, no machine needed for charging.

2.      App installation

At the moment the app is only available for Android, also a (cheap, about € 100,- in the market) Android tablet without a phone connection (only Bluetooth is necessary for controlling the Padelshooter and WIFI for installing the app and download settings and programs) could be used. When using the machine, no phone connection is needed, so also no sim card necessary. For installing the app, you can download it from the PadelShooter website.

  1. Start your Android phone/tablet and in your browser go to: padelshooter.com, Support, Downloads (Padelshooter 3A), use password: sportisfun
  2. In the section “APPS” click the button for downloading the app. The app will then be installed on your phone, follow the instructions on your phone for complete install, ignore the warnings (because it is not installed from the Google App store). When starting the app, it will automatically search for the Padelshooter 3A machine, so the machine should be turned on to find the machine. Only the 1st time it could take a little longer to find the Padelshooter, after making the first connection it remembers the address of the machine and next time the connection will be made faster.
  3. An icon on your phone is created to start the app.
  4. The PadelShooter app is now ready to control the PadelShooter, after the PadelShooter is connected, the Bluetooth icon is green, the machine is then “ready to be controlled”.

3.      App usage

The app is for controlling the PadelShooter ball machine. The included remote control is only for stop and start shooting balls when the machine is already playing on the court.

The steps for connecting:

  1. Turn ON the PadelShooter machine
  2. Start the PadelShooter app
  3. The app will connect automatically and the Bluetooth icon will turn green

You can go from here to several screens:

  • Start Here screen, which is quite easy to use
  • Trainings screen, where you find all kind of inbuilt trainings with also mixed balls trainings like “Volley – Bandeja”
  • Programs screen, where you can program your own trainings and can download “ready made” trainings from the Padelshooter website
  • Config screen is for setting your preferred settings of the Trainings in the Trainings and Start Here screen and for some other configuration settings / tools. From all the sub-screens, you can go back to this Main screen.

In all the screens are some important settings of the trainings and programs. These are Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height, which are presented by a line (Trainings screen) with a ball that you could change to another value by “moving” the ball left or right, or by pressing Up/Down buttons (Start Here screen). All these settings, is from 0 to 100, except spin (-50=topspin till +50=backspin). Every training starts with the settings that are specified in Config screen, so you can change the way you prefer and what is suitable for your level. There are 2 kind of settings to save, for 1 player (Single) and for 2 players (Doubles). The settings for Single are used when you select “1” Player in the Main screen, the settings for Doubles are used when you select “2” in Main screen.

The best usage of the app/machine is to:

  • Choose (Main screen) if you play with 1 or 2 players, in Config screen you can set the preferred settings for 1 or 2 players. Because for 2 players, the “Frequency” of balls should be higher and also the “Width” should be bigger, it is useful to make different settings to play with 1 or 2 players.
  • Start with the “Start Here” screen and get used to the settings of Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height.
  • For every training, first try the best settings for you by changing the speed, spin, frequency, width and height.
  • If some balls go straight into the back wall, (1) set speed lower or (2) set height lower. If all trainings are shooting too fast/slow, you might change the “Max Speed” (in Config screen), the Speed settings are always a % of this “Max Speed”. In Config screen is a Calibrate function to set Max Speed at the right value.
  • If some balls in a training go into the net while the other balls are good, set Net Position higher for the specific training (go to Config screen, search “Net” in the training you want to change, Write for Single or Write for Doubles), the machine won’t shoot lower than the Net position for the specific training. If, for example for “Random”, the Height is set to 10 and the Net position for “Random” is set to 15, the machine won’t shoot lower than 15, so ALWAYS set the Net value lower than the Height value otherwise the Height wont be used. The Net position is for protecting the machine to shoot into the net with all kind of variable trainings (higher and lower balls). If you use a higher speed, the Net position could be set lower.
  • Sometimes the first few balls are slower or faster than the next ones. Wait for the other balls if the settings are right, then eventually change.
  • Set the machine as close as possible to the back wall in the middle (at line position between the Left and Right side). You might use Calibrate (Config screen) to find the right direction for the machine to shoot exact in the middle.
  • It is sure possible to set the machine at other positions (for example in a corner with the direction of the machine to the opposite corner which is very useful for training mixed balls that bounce first at side wall and then back wall or other way), just as you want.

The app software consists of 5 screens:

  1. Main screen

The Main screen is the start of the app. With this screen you should wait for the (Bluetooth green) connection with the machine and let you choose to go to one of the other screens. Before going to another screen, you should set with how many persons you want to use the machine (1 or 2). The settings for the inbuilt trainings (Start Here and Trainings) are then set for a Single or Double play.

  1. Start Here screen

The Start Here screen is an Easy use screen for controlling the machine with some nice padel trainings. When players just received the machine, the Start Here screen is the best way to start working with the machine. Also for Padelcenters (players hire the machine) the Start Here is a very good way to work with the machine.

  1. Trainings screen

The Trainings screen offers various Padel trainings for 1 or 2 players with also some “combination of shots” (Volley – Bandeja) trainings.

  1. Programs screen

The Programs screen can run self-made programs. These programs could be made by yourself or be downloaded from the Racketclub website.

  1. Config screen
The Config screen can finetune all the trainings of the inbuilt “Start Here” and “Trainings” screens. All trainings have starter settings, which you can change in the screens. Changing the settings in the Start Here and Trainings screen are temorary, in the Config screen you can change it for all times. When you choose a training in the Start Here and Trainings screen, the start settings of the sliders (speed, spin, frequency, width and height) are set in a good way but maybe not perfect for your level, so change in Config screen when you want it permanently. In the Config screen you can change the starter settings for all the trainings, some trainings of the Start Here screen (random, horizontal, etc) are set for both Start Here and Trainings screen.

The ”Net” position (for setting the minimal height of the low balls), could only be set in the Config screen for every training.

The “Max Speed” is the maximum speed (a number from 1-250) that will be used in the speed sliders of all screens. The 0-100 slider speed setting is a % of the Maximum Speed. This maximum speed is normally the best value for Padel (100). When changing the “Max Speed”, the Speed for all trainings will be changed globally, also for the Programs. For example, when there is a lot of wind or you use different balls than before, you can change the speed for all trainings in one time.

The “Pause Level” gives an extra delay after only high balls in some trainings (Volley – Bandeja trainings). 0 means no pause, 100 means 2 secs extra pause after the high ball. This value could be set higher for just 1 player  (in Single settings) and lower for 2 players (in Doubles settings) doing the training. Normally you set the frequency of the balls (pause between each ball) by Frequency” but because high balls needs longer time to arrive at the player and sometimes also players let these bounce on the ground / wall, more time is needed to shoot the next ball, which is set with the pause level (only for the Trainings screen, not for Programs).

In all the screens, 5 values could be set for:

  1. Height: for the height of the balls or a maximum height in some variable height trainings, the range is then between the net position (set in Config screen) and the height you set. In Bandeja – Volley trainings, the Height value is the height of the Bandeja while the Net value is the height of the volley.
  2. Width: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range (from the horizontal middle) and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). Also the Width could be used to set the exact horizontal position (Fixed). The value is set from the view of the player, so left is 0 and right is 100. Keep in mind that this Width value is within the area that you selected for the Limitation of the court (“Left”, “Right” or some % of the field).
  3. Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter.
  4. Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, left (a negative value) gives topspin and right (a positive) value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  5. Speed: sets the speed of the balls, this speed is a % of the Maximum Speed specified in the Config screen.

In the Trainings screen, the numeric values of all sliders are displayed above the sliders for Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height. Just as the sliders, you could also enter these values here by hand and then press “Enter”.

A value, that is not visible in the Start Here and Trainings screen, is the “Net Position”, this value should be set in the Config screen. In many trainings the height is varying between Net Position and the Height slider value. If the speed is low, the Net Position should be set higher because the speed is too low to shoot over the net. When setting the “Net Position” for a training in Config screen, the machine won’t move lower than this “Net” position for that training so the balls will go over the net even when the speed is low. Keep in mind that when you want the Height value lower and it doesn’t work, probably the Net position is set too high and then the machine won’t shoot lower.

In every screen, at the bottom there is a “Back” button to go back to the Main screen. From the Main screen, you can access all the other screens.

Position of ball machine

The ball machine could be set in the horizontal middle at the back wall and shoot to the middle direction. It is also possible to set the ball machine in one corner, just what you like. You should keep in mind that the optimal settings for the ball machine were made for the ball machine in the horizontal middle against the back wall. If you set the PadelShooter at a different position and/or different direction, the settings might be necessary to change (Config screen).

4.      Main Screen

In the Main screen, you can choose with how many players you want to use the machine (1 or 2 players), the machine then will use the setting you made for “Single” (1 player) or “Doubles” (2 players). For many trainings you will set the pause between the balls shorter for 2 players than for 1 player. Also, the width (horizontal) and the Left/Right area will be larger for 2 players. You can set different settings for 1 or 2 players in Config screen and these settings are then selected by choosing 1 or 2 players here. Wait for the Bluetooth icon (right of the PadelShooter 3A) to be green, then the app is connected with the machine.

From the Main screen, you can select which screen you want to use: Start Here (for Easy use of machine) or Trainings (for inbuilt trainings with combination of shot trainings) or Programs (for making your own programs or run downloaded programs from the Padelshooter.com website).

For every training:

The “Net” position, this is height of the net and is just a number you should “play” a little with, so you don’t shoot balls in the net anymore, especially useful when you want a lower speed. The Padelshooter never shoots balls lower than the “Net” position, even when you set the “Height” lower.

For common use:

The “Max Speed”, this is the Maximum value for the speed of the machine. In the trainings you use a number from 0-100, this is a percentage of the Maximum Speed. So, if you raise the Maximum Speed, in all trainings the speed will be automatically changed with higher speed. Be careful with this setting, but it can also be very useful, for example when there is huge wind from one side of the court. When the wind is in front of the ball machine, you can set the Maximum Speed some higher and respectively for wind in back of ball machine, set the Maximum Speed some lower. The “Max Speed” value is also used for your own programs (Programs screen). The Max Speed value is also very useful for using the machine for tennis. Even though the machine is made for padel, many trainings and the unique way of controlling settings and make your own programs, are very useful for tennis as well. The maximum value of the Max Speed is 250, for padel 100 is optimal.

The “Pause Level”, for setting some pause in trainings of the Trainings screen with high balls (Bandeja – Volley trainings and Cross trainings). Only after the high ball, an extra pause will be included from 0 (no pause) to 100 (2 secs pause). This could be useful when you are not a top-level player or when you want to train to hit the high balls after hitting the ground or the back wall (then it needs some extra pause, otherwise the next ball will be shot before the last ball was hit back). The “Pause Level” is only used in the (inbuilt) Trainings screen for the high balls.

5.      Start Here Screen

Because the PadelShooter has many settings and features, it could be hard to start when you are new with the machine. This especially is for players at a padelcenter / padelclub that use the machine for the first time. The “Start Here” screen is then very useful to start with the PadelShooter ball machine. When you started this screen, just press one of the (9) trainings and the default settings of that training are displayed below the “Off” and “Play” buttons. You can immediately start playing by pressing the “Play” button, or you can first change some of these settings with the higher/lower buttons and then press “Play”, when you think the settings are right for you. Also, while playing, you can change a setting on the fly and press Play again, the machine stops the training but immediately goes on with the new settings. Remember these changed settings are just while doing the training. When you prefer settings permanently, go to Config screen and change the settings there (and press “Write for Single” of “Write for Doubles”) to save it permanently. For shooting at the right side of the padelcourt, press the “Right side”, for left side press “Left side” and for whole court mark both Left and Right side.

“Volley”

The volleys will be shot randomly at 3 width positions at 1 height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is completely random within the selected area (“Left” / “Right”) so it is possible that you get the balls several times at the same location, this is pure random.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of all the balls
  • Width: there are 3 balls shot randomly: left/middle/right for volleys at the forehand, backhand and body. Use a low value for the 3 balls close to each other and larger value for a wider range. If you want the 3 balls just at 1 location, set Width to 0. Remember that this area is within the area you choose with the “Left / Right” part of the field.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter.
  • Spin: set the spin for all the balls, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls (also defines the depth of the ball), this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Left / Right”.

à If you want a lower speed, change the speed accordingly but keep in mind that balls might be shot in the net then, so change the Height as well.

“Bandeja / Smash”

The balls will be shot randomly at 3 width positions at 1 height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is completely random within the selected area (“Left” / “Right”) so it is possible that you get the balls several times at the same location, this is pure random.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of all the balls
  • Width: there are 3 balls shot randomly: left/middle/right.
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls (also defines the depth of the ball), this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Left / Right”.

à The Speed and Height for a bandeja could be different then for a smash, so change the speed and height for the exact ball you want

“Hor movement”

The balls will be shot randomly at 1 height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is completely random within the selected area (“Left” / “Right”) so it is possible that you get the balls several times at the same location, this is pure random.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of all the balls
  • Width: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The Width is set from the middle of the area you have chosen.

“Bajada”

The Bajada is a high ball that hits the floor just before the back wall and should be bounced against the back wall before hitting back. The PadelShooter shoots the balls at just 1 horizontal position. This training is meant for 1 person. The horizontal position is default the middle of the selected area (“Left” / “Right”).

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of all the balls
  • Width: the horizontal position where the ball will be shot. You can change the position by setting a higher Width value, 0 is the left position within the area, 50 is the middle and 100 is the right but you can set wherever you want. Remember that this position is within the area you choose with the “Left / Right” part of the field.
For the Bajada, a high topspin value is used to let the ball bounce higher after hitting the back wall

“Fixed”

The PadelShooter shoots the balls at just 1 position (just 1 width and depth). This training is meant for 1 person. The horizontal position is default the middle of the selected area (“Left” / “Right”). Especially the Height and Speed value determine the depth of the ball.

For the Bajada, a high topspin value is used to let the ball bounce higher after hitting the back wall
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls (also defines the depth of the ball), this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Left / Right”.

“Vert Movement”

The PadelShooter shoots the balls at just 1 width position with a variable height. This training is meant for 1 person. The horizontal position is default the middle of the selected area (“Left” / “Right”). The Speed value should be set for the highest ball to bounce just before the back wall. If the lowest ball goes into the net, set the Net position higher (in Config screen).

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of the highest ball
  • Width: the horizontal position where the ball will be shot. You can change the position by setting a higher Width value, 0 is the left position within the area, 50 is the middle and 100 is the right but you can set wherever you want. Remember that this position is within the area you choose with the “Left / Right” part of the field.
For the Bajada, a high topspin value is used to let the ball bounce higher after hitting the back wall
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls (also defines the depth of the ball), this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed. The highest ball should bounce before the back wall, otherwise the Speed is too high.
  • Net (Config screen): For the lowest ball to not go into the net, set the Net position accordingly.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Left / Right”.

“Backglass”

The balls will be shot randomly at 3 width positions at 1 height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is random at these 3 positions within the selected area (“Left” / “Right”) so it is possible that you get the balls several times at the same location, this is pure random.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of all the balls
  • Width: there are 3 balls shot randomly: left/middle/right.
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls (also defines the depth of the ball), this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Left / Right”.

à The Speed for a backglass ball could be very different for a lower/higher level player, so change the speed and height for the exact ball you want. If you set the Speed to a lower value, change the Height accordingly so that the ball bounces just before the back wall.

“2-Line”

The balls will be shot randomly at 2 width positions at 1 height. This training is meant for 2 persons so that every player gets his/her own balls, but it could also be used for 1 player. The horizontal position is at 2 positions within the selected area (“Left” / “Right”) and the balls will be shot 1 at every position, so Left, Right, Left, Right… This training is used for 2 (groups of) players to train a shot. The 2 positions are at the end sides of the selected area (“Left” / “Right”).

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of all the balls
  • Width: there are 2 balls shot randomly: left/right. Use a low value for the 2 balls close to each other and larger value for a wider range. For 1 player this training is useful for getting a forehand, backhand, forehand… Remember that this area is within the area you choose with the “Left / Right” part of the field.

“Random”

The PadelShooter shoots the balls at a random position with a variable height and width. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is random in the selected area (“Left” / “Right”). The Speed value should be set for the highest ball to bounce just before the back wall. If the lowest ball goes into the net, set the Net position higher (in Config screen).

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of the highest ball
  • Width: the horizontal area where the ball will be shot randomly. You can change the horizontal range to shoot by setting the Width value.
  • Net (Config screen): For the lowest ball to not go into the net, set the Net position accordingly.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Left / Right”.

à If some balls are shot in the net: set Net higher (in Config screen). If some balls are shot directly in the back wall: set Speed or Height lower.

6.      Trainings Screen

The Trainings screen is for playing several specific Padel trainings. The value for the Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height could be changed with the sliders. The value of the sliders is displayed in the bar above the sliders. These values could also be changed by manually type the numbers. Remember that the “Height” is the height of the balls but if, for some training, the “Net” position (Config screen) is set to a higher value than the height, the balls will still be shot at the “Net” position! Normally you use the Height for the high ball (bandeja in Bandeja – Volley trainings) or the highest range position in some random trainings (for example Random, Vert, 2-Line ~) and the Net (in Config screen) for setting the low ball (for example volleys in Bandeja – Volley trainings) and the lowest position in range trainings (for example Random, Vert, 2-Line~, etc).

The Limit: Left % and Right % is used to only use a horizontal part of the court, you can specify this by just selecting “Left side” or “Right side” or both. More detailed you can specify a % of the field. In Padel, often players only stand on left side or on right side. All the trainings could be limited to the side you prefer. The whole court is from 0% (left) to 100% (right), the middle line is 50%. This means the left side is from 0-50% and the right side is from 50-100%. You can use whatever % that you want. For example, if you only want to play balls at the right side on your backhand (when you are right-handed), you can limit the court from 50-70%. Within this part of the court, you can still use the horizontal movement (“width”) to use that part full (100%) or only part of this (f.e. half: 50%).

If you see that for a training the ball is shot to the back wall, the speed or the height should be set lower. If you see that in some (variable) trainings some balls are shot into the net, you should set the “Net” position higher for that training (Config screen). If you have trainings with a high (bandeja) and a low (volley) ball, there is an extra pause after the high ball, change the extra pause with “Pause level” (in Config screen).

The standard position of the ball machine is in the middle of the field as deep as possible against the back wall. But, to shoot more to the side wall, it is also very useful to position the ball machine in the opposite corner of the corner and side wall where you want to shoot balls. For example to train service returns with balls in the corner and against the back / side walls, set the machine in the corner and point it to the opposite corner. The ball machine in the middle can’t play balls against the side wall, so change the position to let it shoot to the side wall.

“Hor”: Horizontal Movement

The balls will be shot randomly at 1 height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is completely random so it is possible that you get the balls several times at the same location, this is pure random.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of all the balls
  • Width: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The Width is set from the middle of the area you have chosen. Remember that this area is within the area you choose with the “Limit settings”.
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls, this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Limit Left / Right”.

“3-Line ~”: Random play at 3 horizontal positions

The machine moves at 3 exact horizontal positions randomly at the same height. You could use this training for getting warm, for example after the Fixed training and then the 2-Line (where you know exactly that the next ball is shot at the other position). The 3 positions are all the same but you don’t know at what position the machine will shoot. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team, but then one player could get some more balls in a row. This could also be useful for training volleys, sometimes you get a ball on your backhand/forehand or at your body.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height (depth) of the balls.
  • Width: for the range of the 3 balls. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The Width is set for the area of the field you have chosen. Limit the area with “Limit Left %” and “Limit Right %”.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter.
  • Spin: set the spin for all the balls, 0 is no spin and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls, this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum possible Speed. The raise of Speed, will result in balls played deeper. So use this together with the Height for setting the depth of the ball.

à Keep in mind that the setting for “Width” is only in the area that you limited by “Limit Left / Right”.

“Vert”: Vertical Movement

The machine moves up/down all the time and shoots balls at a fixed horizontal position.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the highest vertical position (the lowest vertical position is set by “Net” position for Vert in Config screen).
  • Width: for the (fixed) horizontal position. The value of 50 is in the horizontal middle of the court.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter.
  • Spin: set the spin for the balls, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls

è Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Vertical, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher.

“Random”: Random Movement

The machine shoots balls randomly in height and width position. This is not just left/right and up/down movement but real random balls between the net position, height position and the range that is specified with the horizontal slider.

You can set:

  • Height: for the highest possible position to shoot
  • Width: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The range of the balls is set from the horizontal middle to both sides
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a longer time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter
  • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value (to the left) gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls

è Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Vertical, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher.

2-Line

The machine moves left/right all the time and shoots balls at 2 exact positions. This training is for 2 players where every player gets his own ball all the time or for 1 player to get a forehand and a backhand and a forehand and so on.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the balls
  • Width: for the distance of the 2 positions. Use a low value for 1 player playing forehand and backhand all the time and a high value for 2 players. The Limit left/right also sets the area for shooting.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a longer time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter.
  • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls

Bandeja – Volley

The machine shoots continuously a low ball and a higher ball at random horizontal positions, it is meant for 1 player at a time but can also be used with 2 players (when setting horizontal range high). Because the high ball takes longer time to play back, there could be a small delay after the high ball. This delay could be set in the Config screen (Pause Level). The speed is for all the balls the same.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball.
  • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls randomly. When the horizontal slider is on the left, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range, when on the right the 2 balls will be shot in a big horizontal range.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. There could be set a small delay after the high ball. The “Pause Level” in the Config screen could be set between 0 (no delay after high ball) and 100 (2 secs delay after high ball).
  • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls

è The Pause Level (Config screen) sets a delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher for Bandeja – Volley.

Bandeja~ – Volley (variable)

The machine shoots continuously just 1 low ball (volley) and then a random number (1-10) of higher balls, randomly in a horizontal range, there is a small delay after the high ball (set in Config screen, Pause Level).

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball.
  • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls randomly. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range, when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot in a high horizontal range. The 2 balls (low and high) could be shot at different horizontal positions of each other.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between all the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. Always there is a small delay after the high ball.
  • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of all the balls

è The Pause Level (Config screen) sets an extra delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher for BV~.

Bandeja – Volley~ (variable)

The machine shoots continuously a random number of low balls (volleys) and then 1 high ball, randomly in a horizontal range, there is a small extra delay after the high ball (set in Config screen, Pause Level).

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball.
  • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the balls randomly. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range, when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot in a high horizontal range. The 2 balls (low and high) will be shot at different horizontal positions of each other.

Bandeja~ – Volley~ (variable)

The machine shoots continuously first a random number of low balls (volleys) and then a random number of higher balls, both randomly in a horizontal range, there is a small delay after the high ball (set in Config screen, Pause Level). The low balls and the high balls will both randomly differ in height. The low balls (volley) will have the lowest position at the “Net position” and randomly about 20% above the net position. The high balls (bandeja) will have the highest position at the Height position and randomly about 20% below the highest position.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the highest (Bandeja) ball, the balls will change between .
  • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls randomly. When the horizontal slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range (from the line between the 2 service fields), when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot in a high horizontal range. The 2 balls could be shot in different horizontal positions of each other.
  • Speed: sets the speed of all the balls

è The Pause Level (Config screen) sets a delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher for BV~.

2-Line ~ (2-Line variable)

The machine shoots balls for 2 players (2-line) on the exact positions of the 2 players, or the forehand and backhand for 1 player. The height will be random all the time, what makes the 2-line balls more difficult.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height range of the balls.
  • Width: for the horizontal distance between the 2 balls for the 2 players.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. Always there is a small delay after the high ball.
  • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls
  • Net (Config screen): sets the lowest possible position of the random height range

è Important is the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (2-Line, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher.

Cross1

The machine shoots 2 balls for 1 player at 2 horizontal positions, a high ball in the left corner and a low ball in the middle. For optimal play, you might position the ball machine more in the direction of the corner.

You can set:

  • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot closer to each other, when the horizontal slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot with more horizontal distance of each other.
  • Height: sets the height of the high ball
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. Always there is a small delay after the high ball.
  • Spin: set the spin for the balls, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the (relative) speed of the balls

è The Pause Level (Config screen) sets a delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher.

Cross2

The machine shoots 2 balls for 1 player at 2 horizontal positions, a high ball in the right corner and a low ball in the middle. For optimal play, you might position the ball machine more in the direction of the corner.

You can set:

  • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot closer to each other, when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot with more horizontal distance of each other.

2-Line BV (2-Line Bandeja Volley)

The machine shoots a low ball and a higher ball at 2 horizontal positions. Even though the training is meant for 2 persons on the court (both players get respectively a volley and a high ball), the training is also nice for 1 person when the frequency and horizontal range is lower. For 1 person, the player gets 2 volleys and 2 high balls.

You can set:

  • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball.
  • Width: for the horizontal position where the machine shoots the 2 balls. When the width slider is a low value, the horizontal range is low distance, when high value the range is bigger.
  • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter.
  • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel).
  • Speed: sets the speed of the balls

è The Pause Level (Config screen) is not used in this training, this training is mainly used for 2 players so there is no extra delay after the high balls. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher.

7.      Programs screen

The Programs screen is for making and running self-made trainings or ready-made trainings that were downloaded from the Padelshooter.com website.

After connecting the app to the machine and choose “Programs” in the Main screen, you get the above screen with a list of the Programs that you made yourself or downloaded from the Padelshooter.com website.

Programs with your preferred name could be made. Maximal 9 shots could be used in the program.

The screen is divided in several parts (from top-bottom):

  1. The Program information part
  2. The Programs/Shots part
  3. The Shot settings part
  4. The Commands (Button) part

Program information

The “Program information” part shows the name of the selected program or let you specify the program name. When selecting a program, it also shows the number of shots of the program. The “Programs” button shows the available programs in the app in a list below.

Programs/Shots

The “Program/Shots” part is located below the Programs information part and shows the available program names or the programmed shots of the selected program. This part is only visible when the “Programs” button is pressed (it shows the loaded programs), or when you selected a Program from the list and then it shows the shots of that program. When selecting a program (press the program button that you want to use), it shows all the shots of the program. The name of the selected program is displayed in the “Program information” part. The Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width (Horizontal), Height (Vertical) values are presented for every shot. If you pressed the “Programs” button and there are no programs shown, there is no program on your mobile phone yet. You can go to the Config screen, Programs section and then press “Read Racketclub”. Then you have just some examples (not high level at moment but some examples for programs 😊 ). If you now go to Programs screen and press “Programs”, there will be some programs available. You can press one of the programs to see the shots of the program.

Shot settings

The “Shot settings” part shows a bar with the settings of the selected shot and the sliders of the speed, spin, frequency, horizontal and vertical settings. The settings could be changed by changing the sliders (values will be visible in above bar) or by changing the values in the bar above the sliders and press “Enter”. When selecting a shot, the slider settings are changed and the settings of that shot are presented, also the selected shot number/name change to yellow. When selecting a shot, the name will turn to yellow and is then selected. When you want to delete some shots, all the selected shots (yellow coloured) are deleted. Only the settings of the last selected shot will be shown in the sliders and is available for changing.

Commands

The “Commands (Button)” part, the 2 buttons on the left, show the basic machine control buttons Off (turn off machine) and Play Progr (start shooting balls of the program). The middle command below “Programs” show the buttons for controlling the programs. On the right there are 3 buttons for handling the shots of a program. Especially new is the “List Category”, for this button you need an internet connection because it loads the available categories from the Padelshooter website.

New Progr (New Program)

A new program could be made by:

  1. Press the “New Program” button.
  2. Fill in the name of the program in the “Program information” section.
  3. Change the settings with the sliders for the 1st shot.
  4. Press “Add Shot”.
  5. In the “Programs/Shot” part, the 1st shot is displayed.
  6. Repeat steps 3-4 for more shots (max. 9)

Del Progr (Delete Program)

To delete a program:

  1. Select a program by pressing the “Programs” button.
  2. Select your program, that should be deleted, by pressing the named program. All shots are displayed.
  3. A list of programs is displayed. Even though the shots of the program are removed, the Program name is still in the list. The program will still be visible in the list. The program is not visible anymore, after you exit the app and start it again.

Save Progr (Save Program)

The Save Program button is mainly used to save an existing program, that you selected, with another name (in fact you make a copy of that program). This could be very useful when you have a perfect training and just want to have an “easy start” to make another training. For example, you made a training at the right side of the Padel court, and then you want to make the same kind of training at the left side of the Padel court. Then you “copy” the “Right half training” to a new name (“Left half training”?) and then you open this copied training and change the “width” slider for all shots to the left side.

To save a program:

  1. Select a program by pressing the “Programs” button.
  2. Select your preferred program by pressing the named program. All shots are displayed.
  3. Fill in a new name in the “Program information” section.
  4. Press “Save Progr” button.
  5. A new program with the new name is in the list of programs (press “Programs”)

List Category

The List Category button shows the category of programs that we made for you to download from our website, so you need an internet connection for it (WIFI or by phone). First press the “List Category” for showing the available categories, then press on a category button to download the “ready-made” programs for that category. After this download, you will see the downloaded programs from that Category when pressing the “Programs” button. You can use these programs but it is also meant to change this for your own needs, it is a good start to become more experienced in making your own programs.

Very useful is also that, when you downloaded the Category programs, these are in memory of the phone but also stored on the phones disk. How to find these is described in the Config screen description later.

Add Shot

To Add a new shot to your program:

  1. Start a new program (New Progr) or select an existing program (Programs, select the preferred program).
  2. If you see the sliders, “Add Shot” will add a shot with that slider setting. To see the sliders, you need to select a shot. If there is no shot, a shot is added with default values that you can change then by pressing that shot.
  3. Set the sliders for your next shot which will be added after your last shot.
  4. When all is set, press “Add Shot”. The new shot is added at the end of the existing shots.
  5. What could be very useful, is that you first select another shot (so the sliders are set for this shot) and that you then change some setting(s) and press “Add Shot”. This is a way to copy other shots to a new shot.
  6. When you have a shot with some perfect settings but at the right side and you want another same shot at the left side, press the shot at the right side (sliders will change), press “Add Shot”, Select the new shot, change the Width slider to the left and “Save Shot” (see below).

Save Shot

To change settings of shots for your program, use “Save Shot”:

  1. Select an existing program (Programs, select the preferred program).
  2. Select the shot you want to change; you can select several shots which will all be changed in the sliders that you set. The selected shots are marked with yellow characters.
  3. Change the sliders for the shot(s). When all is set, press “Save Shot”. The selected shot(s) is saved with the selected values.

è When you select several shots to change the settings all the same, just press several shots so these are marked yellow and change the sliders for all shots, then press “Save Shot”. Then all the marked shots are changed for these values.

Del Shot(s)

To delete a shot from your program:

  1. Select an existing program (Programs, select the preferred program).
  2. You could select more than 1 shot. All shots, that are marked with yellow characters, will be deleted from the program.
  3. Press Del Shot(s)

è When you selected more than 1 shot, these are all marked for deletion. If you don’t want to delete, press all shots that shouldn’t be delete again so these are unmarked.

8.      Config Screen

The Config screen has several parts: Training Settings, Programs and some tools or “file management” for your phone.
The Training Settings are the start values of all the trainings (the setting of the “ball” in the slider). When pressing a training button in the Trainings screen, the sliders Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height are set in the “start values”, which you can change as you want but it is easier to have it immediately in your preferred setting.

Training Settings

The Training Settings specify all values for the trainings in the Start Here and Trainings screens. For all the trainings there is a list with settings, for the trainings with a random number of volleys/bandejas (Bandeja~ – Volley, Bandeja – Volley~, Bandeja~ – Volley ~), there is only 1 setting: “BV ~”. For the new Start Here screen there are some trainings that were also available in the Trainings screen, but also some new trainings and these settings start with “Start-“ in Config screen.

The settings have, beside values for Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height, an extra value: “Net”. This “Net” value is the “Net position” but in fact it is the minimal height for shooting the ball, so the machine will not shoot in the net. For low-speed balls, the “Net” should be at a higher position than for higher speed balls. In trainings, the ball will always vary between the Net and the Height you choose yourself for the trainings. When the “Net” height is too low for a training, some lower balls will be shot in the net. When the “Net” is for a training higher than the “Height” position, the machine will shoot at the “Net” position because it will NEVER shoot below this setting.

There are also some common settings:

è Max Speed. This value is the maximum speed that the machine is allowed to shoot the balls, this is not the exact speed in km/h but just a value from 0-250. When the Max Speed is set to 90 (standard for Padel), and in trainings the speed is set to “100”, this means the speed is 100% of the Max Speed, so this is 90. The Max Speed is also important for the Programs screen. When you should change the Max Speed, all your programs will shoot different than before, so only change this when necessary!

è Pause Level. This value is an extra delay after the high ball of trainings. 0 means no delay and 100 means about 2 seconds extra delay.

è Width min and Width max. These values are for specifying the left/right area of the Padelcourt you use. If you are a right side padel player, you specify Width min=50 and Width max=100. Then the default setting for playing is on the right side.

Because the best settings for just 1 player is quite different than for 2 players, we made the settings for 1 player (Single) and 2 players (Doubles).

For saving the right settings, use:

  1. Show the settings you made earlier for 1 player by pressing “My Single” button
  2. Change the settings for 1 player
  3. Press “Write for Single”
  4. Show the settings you made earlier for 2 players by pressing “My Doubles” button
  5. Change the settings for 2 players
  6. Press “Write for Doubles”

è After these settings, selecting 1 player in Main screen uses the Single settings while 2 players use the Doubles settings.

There are a few ways to set these setting:

  1. Standard settings of the app
  2. Update the setting from the Racketclub website
  3. Load from your mobile phone

When you installed the app, the values have standard settings, for 1 player and for 2 players.

The best settings could also be downloaded from De Racketclub website by pressing the “Reset Single (Web)” and “Reset Doubles (Web)” buttons. The 3rd option is to write and load the settings to/from your mobile phone in a file (PP-1.csv for single settings and PP-2.csv for doubles settings). It is also possible to write your settings to a self-named name (set a name in the field of “Filename” before , so you have a backup of your settings that won’t be overwritten by coincidentally pressing a button.

At the “Main screen”, you choose for 1 player or 2 players. First the app checks if the settings are already on your mobile phone and, if so, it uses your local settings. If there are no local settings on your phone and the phone has an internet connection, it loads the settings from the Racketclub website. If both values (local and Racketclub) are not available, the app settings will be used.

To set the preferred settings, there are some buttons/fields in the app. The “My Single” loads the single settings from your local phone (normally “PP-1.csv”), the “My Doubles” loads the double settings from your local phone (normally “PP-2.csv”) and shows these settings in the above listing, the “Write for Single” writes the single settings to your local phone and the “Write for doubles” writes the doubles settings to your local phone. The “Filename” field gives you an opportunity to save/load the settings to a different name than the default name (“PP-1.csv” for single and “PP-2.csv” for doubles). If you let this field empty, it always uses the default names, if you fill in a name then it is written to the name. The risk is that you might write wrong values to the default files and then it is nice to have a backup file with the right values to a file with your name. The “Reset Single (Web)” loads the single values from De Racketclub website and shows these values in the above listing. The same for the doubles values which are loaded from De Racketclub website with “Reset Doubles (Web)”. A good way to work when you have made your “perfect settings” for 1 and 2 players, is to:

  1. Load the Single settings: “My Single” button
  2. Enter “Single” in Filename field
  3. Press “Write for Single” button (a settings file with name “Single” will then be created on your phone), this file will never be overwritten by coincidentally press a button
  4. Load the Doubles settings: “My Doubles” button
  5. Enter “Doubles” in Filename field
  6. Press “Write for Doubles” button (a settings file with name “Doubles” will then be created on your phone)
  7. Then you can see with the “List” button in the Programs part, that there are now also some new files “Single” and “Doubles” on your phone. If you incidentally overwrite your standard settings, you can get it back (for Single) with: List, Press “Single”, My Single, Write for Single. It loads your private stored settings for Single, loads these and then writes to the default settings “PP-1.csv”.

My Single

“My Single” loads the default local settings for 1 player from your phone “PP-1.csv” (if no other filename specified in the “Filename field”) and shows these in the above listing.

Write for Single

“Write for Single” writes the settings for 1 player, of the above listing, to the local phone to the file “PP-1.csv” (if no other filename specified in the Filename field).

My Doubles

“My Doubles” loads the default local settings for 2 players from your phone “PP-2.csv” (if no other filename specified in the “Filename field”) and shows these in the above listing.

Write for Doubles

“Write for Doubles” writes the settings for 2 players, of the above listing, to the local phone to the file “PP-2.csv” (if no other filename specified in the Filename field).

Reset Single (Web)

“Reset Single (Web)” reads the settings for 1 player from De Racketclub website to the above listing. At this moment, the values of De Racketclub are only available in the above listing. If you want to write these to your local phone for 1 player, you need to write these with the “Write for Singles”.

Reset Doubles (Web)

“Reset Doubles (Web)” reads the settings for 2 players from De Racketclub website to the above listing. At this moment, the values of De Racketclub are only available in the above listing, not on your local phone. If you want to write these to your local phone for 2 players, you need to write these with the “Write for Doubles”.

àFor specifying other names than the default (for your own backup that won’t be overwritten by the app), the field “Filename” is useful. If there is no name in this field, always the default name is used. The button in the next “Programs” section is useful: “List”. When you specify your own name (for example “Rons settings” in the “Filename” field, then select “Write for Single”, the settings are saved in “Rons settings” file. Press “List” button to see the name, press the name (it is filled in the Filename field) and press “My Single, it then loads “Rons settings” and not the default settings. The “List” button shows all your local files on your phone and you can select a file of this list which is then set as “Filename”. See “Programs” section for more information.

Programs

For loading and storing programs at your mobile phone, you can use some buttons to load the programs from De Racketclub website and store it to your local phone. Or you can save/load the programs in your app at a local file with a specific name (default is “P-programs.csv”). After you made your programs in the Programs screen, these are available on your phone, but not stored as a file on your local phone. You can write specific programs to a filename on your local phone. If you have made programs on your phone for (for example) just 1 player, you can save these in a local file (for example “Programs_1player.csv”), the same for 2 players (for example “Programs_2players.csv”). If you want te use all your programs for 1 player, you can load these in the app from “Programs_1player.csv” and then, in the Programs screen, you can use all programs for 1 player.

Progs from Phone

If you press this button, all programs from the default “P-programs.csv” are loaded in the app. If you specified a filename (in Filename field) and press “Read Programs”, the programs from that filename are loaded in the app and can be used in the Programs screen. You could also first press “List” and select a filename with programs and then read these.

Progs to Phone

If you press this button, all programs, that are loaded in the app, are written to the default “P-programs.csv”. If you specified a filename (in Filename field) and press “Write Programs”, the available programs in the app are written to the specified filename in your local phone. So, if you loaded many programs from all kind of Categories in Programs screen (and maybe changed these!), you can save these all to a file on your phone to use later again. Also all your own made programs could be stored this way.

List

Because settings and programs could be stored on your phone, it is useful to see what files are on your phone for the PadelShooter app. When pressing “List”, a list of local stored files are displayed. If you select one of these files, the name of the file is set in the “Filename” field and can then be used to read the settings or programs of this file (you don’t need to type it by hand 😊). When you downloaded the Category programs (Programs screen), these are loaded on your phone but also stored on your phone disk with name “PC-<category name>.csv.

Lock Config

The button “Lock Config” simply hides the Configuration settings in the Config screen so that Users (that don’t know about changing settings permanently) can’t “damage” the settings. Most settings and buttons in the Config screen are made hidden for users, even when restarting the app, the configuration settings are not visible for users. To hide the settings and buttons, you need to enter the right password in the “Filename” field. To restore the buttons and settings you need again enter the password in the “Filename” field and press Lock Config button. The password is the same as you used for installing the app and download the manual (“sport….”) from the padelshooter.com website.

Clear Data

When you downloaded several programs (in the Config screen and by loading Category programs in Programs screen), your phone memory will be full of programs after a while. To clear the memory and make it empty, you can use this button. It is emptied after you start the app again. Then, in Programs screen and press Programs, nothing is displayed there. Then, you can still find the written file “PC-<category>.csv” by pressing “List” button, then press that file and “Read from Phone”.

Clear File

When you press “List” button, you see all files that the Padelshooter app saved to your phone. To delete a file, you could press the file so that this file is displayed in the “Filename” field, and then press “Clear File”. Then this file is deleted from your phone. Be careful with this because there is no warning shown if you are sure about this.

Calibrate

The Calibrate function is for 2 functions. (1) To position the ball machine in the horizontal middle of the opposite side and let it shoot exactly in the middle of the Left side and Right side (the service line between left/right side). (2) To exact set the depth of the balls, the Max Speed of the machine controls the overall speed of the Padelshooter. You can press “Start” button to shoot balls and “Stop” when finished. The balls should be shot at the “T” of the other side of the net, this is never all balls exact but it should be an average so that some balls will bounce shorter and some deeper. The Max Speed is set default to 100. If most balls bounce shorter than the “T” on the ground, the Max Speed should be set higher (press Up button). If most balls bounce deeper, the Max Speed should be set lower (press Down button). After you found the right setting for Max Speed, it is automatically set in the Config settings (above) but it is not saved for Single and Double settings, so check if the Max Speed is set at the right number of the Calibration and write this to the Single (My Single, change Max Speed to the right number, Write for Single) and Doubles setting (My Doubles, change Max Speed to the right number, Write for Doubles).

Examples to work with the Config screen

  7. If you press “List”, you should see a list of “PP-1.csv”, “PP-2.csv”, “Single” and “Doubles”.
  • You occasionally overwrite your single settings and want to restore
  1. List your local files by pressing “List”
  2. You see a file “Single” (that you saved in the 1st example), select this file, the filename “Single” is now in the Filename field.
  3. Press “My Single”, the single settings are now in the values listing.
  4. Press “Write for Single”, a new “PP-1.csv” has been made with the right (restored) values.
  • You want to load De Racketclub programs and store it in a local file “My programs”
  1. Press “Read Racketclub” (in Programs section), the loaded programs are now in your app, you can check this if you go to the Pro screen and press “Programs”.
  2. Fill in “My programs” in Filename field.
  3. Press “Write Programs”, the loaded Racketclub programs are now in your local file “My programs”.
  4. You can also save these programs as your standard programs. Because the Filename field is cleared after writing to a file so the field is now empty, you can press “Write Programs” again and now it is written to your standard programs file “PP-programs.csv”.
  • You want from “P-programs.csv” only Bandeja trainings in a file “Bandeja” on your phone.
  1. Load your local programs by pressing “Read Programs”. You can check all your programs in the Pro screen (Go to Pro screen and Press “Programs” there). Your machine don’t need to be on, you can do this with only your mobile phone.
  2. In the Pro screen (you don’t need to be connected with the machine), delete the programs from your programs list (Programs, press the program you want to delete and press “Del Progr”. Repeat this for the other programs you don’t want in your local file.
  3. Go Back from the screen (“Back”) and go again to the Pro screen, now all programs you want to store in a local file, are listed.
  4. Go back to the Config screen (“Back”, “Config”).
  5. While the programs are now loaded in your app, you can write these to a file on your local phone. Fill in Filename “Bandeja” and press “Write Programs”.
  6. If you press “List”, there is a local file “Bandeja” on your phone.
  7. If you later only want to use Bandeja programs in a training, you can then press “List”, select the “Bandeja” file in the list and “Read Programs”. Now only Bandeja programs are loaded on your mobile phone.

Maintenance

Details

Clean machine

Cleaning the machine can be done with a vacuum cleaner through the ball shot hole (front of machine). After some time, felt, sand and court material will be found in the machine. Especially the court material could stick on the surface of the shooting wheels and in the gears for left/right and up/down movement. To overcome problems, it is good to sometimes remove the court material with a vacuum cleaner.

Charge battery

Often a battery is the “weakest” part of a ball machine. When regularly charging (also when not using the machine in winter), you enlarge the lifetime of the battery and keeps the “hours working with machine” longer.

Shooting wheels

When you see that court material will get “glued” on the shooting wheels, you should maintain the wheels. Because the court material gets hot when shooting the balls, it easily get fixed on the surface of the wheels. After short time, that layer on the wheels will get hard and slippery. To overcome ball blocks, you should make the surface of the wheels more rough. This could be done with sand paper or with a (electrical) file. Cleaning with water doesn’t help and is also almost impossible. The wheel surface should be rough to pick up the balls easily. De Racketclub has a permanent solution for this, so contact De Racketclub.

Opening machine

If you have some technical skills and want to check the machine inside (for example if sensors are filled with dirt/felt), you (1) need to remove the 4 screws of the handle to remove the handle and (2) need to unlock the 6 screws at the side of the machine. Then the upper and lower part of the ball machine can be opened.

Problems, possible solutions

Problem

Solution(s)

Ball block

·                  Make wheels surface rougher (if this happens more than once).

·                  Check if a ball is in the machine (fell down during transport to Padelcourt)

·                  First remove all balls inside the machine (just behind the shooting wheels)

Too many balls in net with some trainings

Set the Net Position higher (Config screen, change Net Position for training with that problem, Write for Single/Doubles (depends on the number of players))

After making perfect settings, next time still old settings

Make the perfect settings for the training(s), then press “Save” button. Or change the settings permanent in Config screen.

The pause between balls is too long/short

·                  Set Frequency higher/lower (for all balls)

·                  Set Pause Level (Config screen, Pause Level, Write for Single/Doubles), only an extra pause after the high ball is added

App won’t connect with PadelShooter

·                  Is the Machine turned on?

·                  Is someone else still connected with the machine?

·                  Is Bluetooth turned ON on your mobile phone?

·                  Are you still connected with another Bluetooth device?

Problems with feeding too fast

Setting the Frequency doesn’t change the frequency, balls are shot too fast after each other.

·        Possibly the sensor (close to hole between ball bucket and inside machine) has dirt/felt inside. Cleaning the dirt with a vacuum cleaner might help solving this.

Problems with feeding, no ball shot

Setting the Frequency doesn’t change the frequency, balls aren’t shot.

It might be possible that the feeding wheel still turns but the frequency is too low. When there are many balls in ball bucket, the feeder might not turn because of too low frequency (doesn’t get enough power to turn). Try setting the frequency higher or see what happens when there are no ball in the ball bucket (is the feeding wheel slowly turning?).

The wheels are at the left and don’t move to the right when starting a training (only noise)

It might be possible that the Left/Right movement screw at the bottom of the machine is not in the hole anymore. This is possible during shipment and can be set good again. Contact De Racketclub.
