Problems, Maintenance and Versions…………………………………….. 28 1. The PadelShooter important information before starting • The PadelShooter has now 2 version machines. The 2nd version (from September 2022) has a different board where the speed of the shooting wheels is faster than the 1st version. All the speed settings are a percentage of the maximum speed of the machine. In the Config screen there is a value for “Max Speed”, which is default set to a number “90”. If you see that the standard trainings are too fast or too slow, you can easily change all trainings in one time by changing this “Max Speed” to a higher/lower number. This could also be used when playing outside and there is high wind (from front or back). • Some padel courts (for example blue “Mondo” courts) are made of a kind of plastic that forms a hard slippery layer around the shooting wheels. After some time the balls will be shot with less speed (slippery, so less grip on the balls) and finally possibly ball blocks. If this happens, the wheels should be made rougher. De Racketclub has a very good solution for this. If this happens, contact De Racketclub and we help you how to solve this. • The trainings could be made perfect for all level players. If you found in the inbuilt trainings (Trainings screen) that changing the settings is better for your level, you can make that permanent, by setting these “best settings” in the Config screen. In the Config screen there is a setting “Pause level”, which adds an extra pause after every high ball in the inbuilt trainings (0=no pause, 100=2 sec extra pause). • In the Config screen you can find for every training a “Net” setting. This “Net” setting is the height of the lowest position to shoot balls, this is often the net. For every training the PadelShooter won’t play balls BELOW the “Net” position. So, if you change the “Height during play and it won’t go lower, probably the “Net” position for the training is higher than the “Height”. Sometimes you only want high balls between a lowest position and a highest position. The height for the balls is set by the “Height” setting and the lowest position for a training could be set with this “Net” setting. Also, several trainings move (randomly) between a lowest and a highest position. The highest position could be set by the “Height” and the lowest position could be set by the “Net” in the Config screen. After changing, don’t forget to save the Config settings by “Write for Single” (settings for 1 player) or “Write for Doubles” (settings for 2 players). • The position of the PadelShooter should be at the other side of the net (of the players) in the horizontal middle as close as possible to the back glass. When setting the training to “Fixed” and the “Limit Left” to 0 and “Limit Right” to 100, the PadelShooter should shoot exactly at the middle service line. But you are sure free to change the position to your needs . • In the inbuilt trainings (Trainings screen), there is a “Limit Left” and “Limit Right”. This is for choosing just a part of the horizontal padel court. The horizontal court is from 0 to 100, so if you only want to play at the right side of the court, you can set Limit Left=50 and Limit Right=100, for left side of court Limit Left=0 and Limit Right=50. But you can also choose other parts of the court to only play in that area. Remember that, when limiting the court, all trainings use the “Width” then in that area. If you limit the court to right side and you want to play in the whole right side, then set “Width” to 100, 100 is then 100% of the right side. • The settings could be changed by moving the ball in the 5 sliders, but you can also change the values above by typing the exact number and then save it by pressing ENTER button. After changing the settings, press again the training to use the new settings. • In the Trainings screen, some buttons have a “~”, which means this is a variable number. So, “Bandeja~ – Volley” means 1 volley and a variable number of bandejas (1-10, you don’t know how much every time). 2. App installation At the moment the app is only available for Android. For installing the app, you can download it from the PadelShooter website. 1. Start your Android phone and in your browser go to: padelshooter.com, Support, Downloads (password: sportisfun) 2. In the section “APPS” click the button for downloading the app. The app will then be installed on your phone, follow the instructions on your phone for completely install, ignore the warnings (because it is not installed from the Google App store). 3. An icon on your phone is created to start the phone or you can start it at the end of the app installation. 4. The PadelShooter app is now ready to control the PadelShooter. 3. App usage The app is for controlling the PadelShooter ball machine. Before starting the PadelShooter app, turn on the PadelShooter machine. When starting the app, the 1st time the app will search for the machine, you should wait some time (less than 1 minute). If the machine is displayed in the screen, you should press the Bluetooth device of the PadelShooter machine. After pressing the PadelShooter in the app, the machine will be connected to the machine (the Bluetooth icon will turn green to show the app is connected with the machine. After this 1st time, the PadelShooter machine is known on the phone and next time the app will connect automatically (when the machine is turned ON). The steps for connecting: 1. Turn ON the PadelShooter machine 2. Start the PadelShooter app 3. When the PadelShooter has been connected earlier, the app will connect automatically and the Bluetooth icon will turn green 4. If this was the 1st time to start the app, the app will search for the available Bluetooth devices, select the PadelShooter from the list on the screen, the app will connect automatically You can go from here to the Trainings screen, where you find all kind of inbuilt trainings or to the Programs screen, where you can program your own trainings. The Config screen is for setting the best settings of the Trainings in the Trainings screen and for downloading/managing programs. From all the sub-screens, you can go back to this Main screen. In all the screens are some important settings of the trainings and programs. These are Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height, which are presented by a line with a ball that you could change to another value. All these settings, is from 0 to 100, except spin (-50=topspin till +50=backspin). Every training starts with the best settings but you can change the way you prefer. Also these starter settings (best settings) could be set by yourself (Config screen). Or, when you are busy with a training and you found that you set the right settings, press “Save” button to save permanently. The best usage of the app/machine is to: • Choose (Main screen) if you play with 1 or 2 players, in Config screen you can set the preferred settings for 1 or 2 players. These are used when setting 1 (My Single in Config screen) or 2 players (My Doubles in Config screen) in this Main screen. Because for 2 players, the “Frequency” of balls should be higher and also the “Width” should be bigger, it is useful to make different settings to play with 1 or 2 players. • Start with the “Trainings” screen and get used to the sliders and settings • For every training, try first the best settings for you by changing the speed, spin, frequency, width and height. • If some balls go straight into the back wall, (1) set speed lower or (2) set height lower. If all trainings are shooting too fast/slow, you might change the “Max Speed” (in Config screen). • If some balls go into the net, set Net Position higher for the specific training (go to Config screen, “Net”, Write for Single or Write for Doubles), the machine won’t shoot lower than the Net position for the specific training. If, for example for “Random”, the Height is set to 10 and the Net position for “Random” is set to 15, the machine won’t shoot lower than 15. The Net position is for protecting the machine to shoot into the net with all kind of variable trainings (higher and lower balls). If you use a higher speed, the Net position could be set lower. • Sometimes the first few balls are slower or faster than the next ones. Wait for the other balls if the settings are right, then eventually change. • Set the machine as close as possible to the back wall. If you play with 2, set in the horizontal middle and first try a few balls at fixed position in Trainings (at width 50, limit left/right 0100), the balls then should land at the middle service line (middle of 2 service fields). Eventually turn the machine to shoot precise in the middle. • It is sure possible to set the machine at other positions, just as you want. The app software consists of 4 screens: 1. Main screen The Main screen is the start of the app. With this screen you should make the (Bluetooth) connection with the machine and let you choose to go to one of the other screens. Before going to another screen, you should set with how many persons you want to use the machine (1 or 2). The most ideal settings for the trainings are then set for the number of persons you choose. 2. Trainings screen The Trainings screen offers various Padel trainings for 1 or 2 players. 3. Programs screen The Programs screen can run self-made programs. These programs could be made by yourself or be downloaded from the Racketclub website. 4. Config screen The Config screen can finetune all the trainings of the inbuilt “Trainings” screens. All trainings have starter settings, which you can change in the screens with the sliders. When changing in the Trainings screen, the slider settings are set temporarily, in the Config screen you can change it for all times. When you choose a training in the Trainings screen, the start settings of the sliders (speed, spin, frequency, width and height) are set in the best way. In the Config screen you can change the starter settings for all the trainings/buttons. The ”Net” position (for setting the minimal height of the low balls), could only be set in the Config screen for every training. The “Max Speed” is the maximum speed (a number from 1-250) that will be used in the speed sliders of all screens. The 0-100 slider speed setting is a % of the Maximum Speed. This maximum speed is normally the best value for Padel (90). When changing the “Max Speed”, the Speed for all trainings will be changed globally. For example, when there is a lot of wind or you use different balls than before, you can change the speed for all trainings in one time. The “Pause Level” gives an extra delay after high balls in some trainings (Volley – Bandeja trainings). 0 means no pause, 100 means 2 secs extra pause after the high ball. This value could also be set higher for just 1 player and lower for 2 players doing the training. To have an easier start in the Pro screen for making programs, you can download in the Config screen, pre-made programs from De Racketclub website in your phone (you need to have an internet connection on your phone to download). In all the screens, 5 values (slider lines) could be set for: 1. Height: for the height of the balls or a maximum height in some variable height trainings, the range is then between the net position (set in Config screen) and the height you set. 2. Width: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range (from the horizontal middle) and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). Also the Width slider could be used to set the exact position (Fixed). The slider setting is set from the view of the player, so left is 0 and right is 100. 3. Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. 4. Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, left (a negative value) gives topspin and right (a positive) value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). 5. Speed: sets the speed of the balls, this speed is a % of the Maximum Speed specified in the Config screen. The numeric values of all sliders are displayed above the sliders for Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height. Just as the sliders, you could also enter these values here by hand and press “Enter”. A value, that is not visible in the Trainings screen, is the “Net Position”, this value should be set in the Config screen. In many trainings the height is varying between Net Position and the Height slider value. If the speed is low, the Net Position should be set higher because the speed is too low to shot over the net. When setting the “Net Position” for a training in Config screen, the machine won’t move lower than this “Net” position for that training. In every screen, at the bottom there is a “Back” button to go back to the Main screen. From the Main screen, you can access all the other screens. Position of ball machine The ball machine could be set in the horizontal middle at the back wall and shoot in the middle direction. It is also possible to set the ball machine in one corner, just what you like. You should keep in mind that the optimal settings for the ball machine were made for the ball machine in the horizontal middle against the back wall. If you set the PadelShooter at a different position and/or different direction, the settings might be necessary to change (Config screen). 4. Main Screen In the Main screen, you can choose with how many players you want to use the machine (1 or 2 players). For many trainings the pause between the balls will be shorter for 2 players than for 1 player. Also, the width (horizontal) will be larger for 2 players. You can set different settings for 1 or 2 players in Config screen and these settings are then selected by choosing 1 or 2 players here. From the Main screen, you can select which screen you want to use: Trainings or Programs. When selecting the “Config” button, you go to a Config screen for setting some details in the app and loading “ready-made” Programs from the Racketclub website. The Training have the optimal settings and you only should use the Config screen when you want to finetune the trainings. In the Trainings screens, you can change the Speed, Spin, Frequency, Height and Width for the trainings. When you change some of these settings, these will be set during this time you use the app. When you think the settings are “perfect” for you, you can use “Save” button for storing the settings also for the future. The settings are stored for the number of players you selected earlier in the Main screen during this training session. Remember that also the settings for trainings, you changed earlier in this session, will be saved. You can see the changed settings later in the Config screen. Some settings can only be set in the Config screen: For every training: The “Net” position, this is height of the net and is just a number you should “play” a little with, so you don’t shoot balls in the net anymore, especially when you set the speed lower. For common use: The “Max Speed”, this is the Maximum value for the speed. In the trainings you use a number from 0-100, this is a percentage of the Maximum Speed. So if you raise the Maximum Speed, in all trainings the speed will be automatically changed with higher speed. Be careful with this setting, but it can also be very useful, for example when there is huge wind from one side of the court. When the wind is in front of the ball machine, you can set the Maximum Speed some higher and respectively for wind in back of ball machine, set the Maximum Speed some lower. The “Pause Level”, for setting some pause in trainings with high balls. Only after the high ball, an extra pause will be included from 0 (no pause) to 100 (2 secs pause). This could be useful when you are not a top-level player or when you want to train to hit the high balls after hitting the back wall (then it needs some extra pause, otherwise the next ball will be shot before the last ball was hit back). 5. Trainings Screen The Trainings screen is for playing several specific Padel trainings. The value for the Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height could be changed with the sliders. The value of the sliders is displayed in the bar above the sliders. These values could also be changed by manually type the numbers and press “Enter”. Remember that the “Height” is the height of the balls but if, for some training, the “Net” position is set to a higher value than the height, the balls will still be shot at the “Net” position! The Limit: Left % and Right % is used to only use a horizontal part of the court. In Padel, often players only stand on left side or on right side. All the trainings could be limited to the side you prefer. The whole court is from 0% (left) to 100% (right), the middle line is 50%. This means the left side is from 0-50% and the right side is from 50-100%. These values can be used as you want, you can use whatever % that you want. For example, if you only want to play balls at the right side on your backhand (when you are right-handed), you can limit the court from 50-70%. Within this part of the court, you can still use the horizontal movement (“width”) to use that part full (100%) or only part of this (f.e. half: 50%). “Hor”: Horizontal Movement The balls will be shot randomly at 1 height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. The horizontal position is completely random so it is possible that you get the balls several times at the same location, this is pure random. You can set: • Height slider: for the height of all the balls • Width slider: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The Width is set from the middle of the area you have chosen. Remember that this area is within the area you choose with the “Limit settings”. • Frequency slider: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. • Spin slider: set the spin for all the balls, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed slider: sets the speed of the balls, this is a % of the “Max Speed” set in the Config screen, so 100% is the Maximum Speed. “Hor ~”: Horizontal Movement with variable height The machine moves left/right all the time and shoots balls. The ball will be shot randomly at a random height. This training is meant for 1 person but it could also be used for 2 players as a team. Depending on the Frequency settings, the balls are shot in different directions moving from one side to the other. If the Frequency is set in some way, sometimes the machine moves to the other side but the next ball is shot when back at the same side. Then you might change the Frequency a bit. You can set: • Height slider: for the maximum height of the balls (the minimum height is set for “Net” position in Config screen at “Hor ~”). • Width slider: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The Width is set from the middle of the area you have chosen (by Limit left/right?). “Vert”: Vertical Movement The machine moves up/down all the time and shoots balls. You can set: • Height: for the height of the highest vertical position (the lowest vertical position is set by “Net” position for Vert in Config screen). • Width: for the (fixed) horizontal position. The value of 50 is in the horizontal middle of the court. • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. • Spin: set the spin for the balls, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the speed of the balls ➔ Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Vertical, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher. “Random”: Random Movement The machine shoots balls randomly in height and width position. This is not just left/right and up/down movement but real random balls between the net position, height position and the range that is specified with the horizontal slider. You can set: • Height: for the highest possible position to shoot • Width: for the range of the horizontal movement. Use a low value for just a small range and larger value for a wider range (for doubles). The range of the balls is set from the horizontal middle to both sides • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a longer time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value (to the left) gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the speed of the balls ➔ Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Vertical, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher. 2-Line The machine moves left/right all the time and shoots balls at 2 exact positions. This training is for 2 players where every player gets his own ball all the time or for 1 player to get a forehand and a backhand and a forehand and so on. You can set: • Height slider: for the height of the balls • Width slider: for the distance of the 2 positions. Use a low value for 1 player playing forehand and backhand all the time and a high value for 2 players. The Limit left/right also sets the area for shooting. • Frequency slider: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a longer time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. • Spin slider: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed slider: sets the speed of the balls Bandeja – Volley The machine shoots continuously a low ball and a higher ball at random horizontal positions, it is meant for 1 player at a time but can also be used with 2 players (when setting horizontal range high). Because the high ball takes longer time to play back, there could be a small delay after the high ball. This delay could be set in the Config screen (Pause Level). The speed is for all the balls the same. You can set: • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball. • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls randomly. When the horizontal slider is on the left, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range, when on the right the 2 balls will be shot in a big horizontal range. • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. There could be set a small delay after the high ball. The “Pause Level” in the Config screen could be set between 0 (no delay after high ball) and 100 (2 secs delay after high ball). • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a negative value gives topspin and a positive value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the speed of the balls ➔ The Pause Level (Config screen) sets a delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher. ➔ Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Bandeja-Volley, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher. Bandeja~ – Volley (variable) The machine shoots continuously just 1 low ball (volley) and then a random number (1-10) of higher balls, randomly in a horizontal range, there is a small delay after the high ball (set in Config screen, Pause Level). You can set: • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball. • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls randomly. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range, when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot in a high horizontal range. The 2 balls (low and high) could be shot at different horizontal positions of each other. • Frequency: for setting pause between all the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. Always there is a small delay after the high ball. • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the speed of all the balls ➔ The Pause Level (Config screen) sets a delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher. ➔ Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Vertical, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher. Bandeja – Volley~ (variable) The machine shoots continuously a random number of low balls (volleys) and then 1 high ball, randomly in a horizontal range, there is a small extra delay after the high ball (set in Config screen, Pause Level). You can set: • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball. • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the balls randomly. Bandeja~ – Volley~ (variable) The machine shoots continuously first a random number of low balls (volleys) and then a random number of higher balls, both randomly in a horizontal range, there is a small delay after the high ball (set in Config screen, Pause Level). The low balls and the high balls will both randomly differ in height. The low balls (volley) will have the lowest position at the “Net position” and randomly about 20% above the net position. The high balls (bandeja) will have the highest position at the Height position and randomly about 20% below the highest position. You can set: • Height: for the height of the highest (Bandeja) ball, the balls will change between . • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls randomly. When the horizontal slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot in a small horizontal range (from the line between the 2 service fields), when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot in a high horizontal range. The 2 balls could be shot in different horizontal positions of each other. 2-Line ~ (2-Line variable) The machine shoots balls for 2 players (2-line) on the exact positions of the 2 players, or the forehand and backhand distance for 1 player. The height will be random all the time, what makes the 2-line balls more difficult. You can set: • Height: for the height range of the balls. • Width: for the horizontal distance between the 2 balls for the 2 players. • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. Always there is a small delay after the high ball. • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the speed of the balls ➔ Important is also the “Net position”, which could be set in the Config screen (Vertical, Net position), if balls sometimes go into the net, the Net position should be set higher. Cross1 The machine shoots 2 balls for 1 player at 2 horizontal positions, a high ball in the left corner and a low ball in the middle. The lower ball is with higher speed and the other ball is a high lob with low speed. For optimal play, you might position the ball machine more in the direction of the corner. You can set: • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot closer to each other, when the horizontal slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot with more horizontal distance of each other. • Height: sets the height of the high ball • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. Always there is a small delay after the high ball. • Spin: set the spin for the balls, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the (relative) speed of the balls ➔ The Pause Level (Config screen) sets a delay after just the high ball. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher. Cross2 The machine shoots 2 balls for 1 player at 2 horizontal positions, a high ball in the right corner and a low ball in the middle. The low ball is with higher speed and the other ball is a high lob with low speed. For optimal play, you might position the ball machine more in the direction of the corner. You can set: • Width: for the horizontal range where the machine shoots the 2 balls. When the width slider has a low value, the 2 balls will be shot closer to each other, when the width slider has a high value, the 2 balls will be shot with more horizontal distance of each other. 2-Line BV (2-Line Bandeja Volley) The machine shoots a low ball and a higher ball at 2 horizontal positions. Even though the training is meant for 2 persons on the court (both players get respectively a volley and a high ball), the training is also nice for 1 person when the frequency and horizontal range is lower. For 1 person, the player gets 2 volleys and 2 high balls. You can set: • Height: for the height of the high (Bandeja) ball. • Width: for the horizontal position where the machine shoots the 2 balls. When the width slider is a low value, the horizontal range is low distance, when high value the range is bigger. • Frequency: for setting pause between the balls. A low frequency will pause a long time between each ball and a high frequency will pause shorter. • Spin: set the spin for the ball, 0 is the middle and shoots a flat ball without spin, a positive value gives topspin and a negative value gives backspin to the ball (often used in Padel). • Speed: sets the speed of the balls ➔ The Pause Level (Config screen) is not used in this training, this training is mainly used for 2 players so there is no extra delay after the high balls. If the volley regularly goes into the net, set the Net Position (Config screen) higher. 6. Programs screen The Programs screen is for making and running self-made trainings or ready-made trainings that were downloaded from the Racketclub website (see the Config screen). After connecting the app to the machine and choose “Programs” in the Main screen, you get the above screen. Programs with your preferred name could be made. Maximal 9 shots could be used in the program. The screen is divided in several parts (from top-bottom): 1. The Program information part 2. The Programs/Shots part 3. The Shot settings part 4. The Commands (Button) part Program information The “Program information” part shows the name of the selected program or let you specify the program name. When selecting a program, it also shows the number of shots of the program. The “Programs” button shows the available programs in the app in a list below. Programs/Shots The “Program/Shots” part is located below the Programs information part and shows the available program names or the programmed shots of the selected program. This part is only visible when the “Programs” button is pressed (it shows the loaded programs), or when you selected a Program from the list and then it shows the shots of that program. When selecting a program (press the program button that you want to use), it shows all the shots of the program. The name of the selected program is displayed in the “Program information” part. The Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width (Horizontal), Height (Vertical) values are presented for every shot. If you pressed the “Programs” button and there are no programs shown, there is no program on your mobile phone yet. You can go to the Config screen, Programs section and then press “Read Racketclub”. Then you have just some examples (not high level at moment but some examples for programs ). If you now go to Programs screen and press “Programs”, there will be some programs available. You can press one of the programs to see the shots of the program. Shot settings The “Shot settings” part shows a bar with the settings of the selected shot and the sliders of the speed, spin, frequency, horizontal and vertical settings. The settings could be changed by changing the sliders (values will be visible in above bar) or by changing the values in the bar above the sliders and press “Enter”. When selecting a shot, the slider settings are changed and the settings of that shot are presented, also the selected shot number/name change to yellow. When selecting a shot, the name will turn to yellow and is then selected. When you want to delete some shots, all the selected shots (yellow coloured) are deleted. Only the settings of the last selected shot will be shown in the sliders and is available for changing. Commands The “Commands (Button)” part, the 2 buttons on the left, show the basic machine control buttons Off (turn off machine) and Play Progr (start shooting balls of the program). The middle command below “Programs” show the buttons for controlling the programs. On the right there are 3 buttons for handling the shots of a program. New Progr (New Program) A new program could be made by: 1. Press the “New Program” button. 2. Fill in the name of the program in the “Program information” section. 3. Change the settings with the sliders for the 1st shot. 4. Press “Add Shot”. 5. In the “Programs/Shot” part, the 1st shot is displayed. 6. Repeat steps 3-4 for more shots (max. 9) Del Progr (Delete Program) To delete a program: 1. Select a program by pressing the “Programs” button. 2. Select your program, that should be deleted, by pressing the named program. All shots are displayed. 3. A list of programs is displayed. Even though the shots of the program are removed, the Program name is still in the list. The program will still be visible in the list. The program is not visible anymore, when you exit the app and start it again. Save Progr (Save Program) The Save Program button is mainly used to save an existing program, that you selected, with another name (in fact you make a copy of that program). This could be very useful when you have a perfect training and just want to have an “easy start” to make another training. For example, you made a training at the right half of the Padel court, and then you want to make the same kind of training at the left half of the Padel court. Then you “copy” the “Right half training” to a new name (“Left half training”?) and then you open this copied training and change the “width” slider for all shots to the left side. To save a program: 1. Select a program by pressing the “Programs” button. 2. Select your preferred program by pressing the named program. All shots are displayed. 3. Fill in a new name in the “Program information” section. 4. Press “Save Progr” button. 5. A new program with the new name is in the list of programs (press “Programs”) Add Shot To Add a new shot to your program: 1. Start a new program (New Progr) or select an existing program (Programs, select the preferred program). 2. Set the sliders for your next shot which will be added after your last shot. 3. When all is set, press “Add Shot”. The new shot is added at the end of the existing shots. 4. What could be very useful, is that you first select another shot (so the sliders are set for this shot) and that you then change some setting(s) and press “Add Shot”. This is a way to copy other shots to a new shot. Save Shot To change settings of shots for your program, use “Save Shot”: 1. Select an existing program (Programs, select the preferred program). 2. Select the shot you want to change; you can select several shots which will all be changed in the sliders that you set. The selected shots are marked with yellow characters. 3. Change the sliders for the shot(s). When all is set, press “Save Shot”. The selected shot(s) is saved with the selected values. ➔ When you select several shots to change the settings all the same, just press several shots so these are marked yellow and change the sliders for all shots, then press “Save Shot”. Then all the marked shots are changed for these values. Del Shot(s) To delete a shot from your program: 1. Select an existing program (Programs, select the preferred program). 2. You could select more than 1 shot. All shots, that are marked with yellow characters, will be deleted from the program. 3. Press Del Shot(s) ➔ When you selected more than 1 shot, these are all marked for deletion. If you don’t want to delete, press all shots that shouldn’t be delete again so these are unmarked. 7. Config Screen The Config screen has 2 parts: Training Settings and Programs. The Training Settings are the start values of all the trainings (the setting of the “ball” in the slider). When pressing a training button in the Trainings screen, the sliders Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height are set in the “start values”, which you can change as you want but it is easier to have it immediately in your preferred setting. Training Settings The Training Settings specify all values for the trainings in the Trainings screens. For all the trainings there is a list with settings, for the trainings with a random number of volleys/bandejas, there is only 1 setting: “BV ~”. The settings have, beside values for Speed, Spin, Frequency, Width and Height, an extra value: “Net”. This “Net” value is the “Net position” but in fact it is the minimal height for shooting the ball, so the machine will not shoot in the net. For low-speed balls, the “Net” should be at a higher position than for higher speed balls. In trainings, the ball will always vary between the Net and the Height you choose yourself for the trainings. When the “Net” height is too low for a training, some lower balls will be shot in the net. When the “Net” is for a training higher than the “Height” position, the machine will shoot at the “Net” position because it will NEVER shoot below this setting. There are also some common settings: ➔ Max Speed. This value is the maximum speed that the machine is allowed to shoot the balls, this is not the exact speed in km/h but just a value from 0-250. When the Max Speed is set to 90 (standard for Padel), and in trainings the speed is set to “100”, this means the speed is 100% of the Max Speed, so this is 90. The Max Speed is also important for the Programs screen. When you should change the Max Speed, all your programs will shoot different than before, so only change this when necessary! ➔ Pause Level. This value is an extra delay after the high ball of trainings. 0 means no delay and 100 means about 2 seconds extra delay. ➔ Width min and Width max. These values are for specifying the standard part of the Padelcourt you use. If you are a right side padel player, you specify Width min=50 and Width max=100. Then the default setting for playing is on the right side. Because the best settings for just 1 player is quite different than for 2 players, we made the settings for 1 player and 2 players (doubles). For saving the right settings, use: 1. Show the settings you made earlier for 1 player by pressing “My Single” button 2. Change the settings for 1 player 3. Press “Write for Single” 4. Show the settings you made earlier for 2 players by pressing “My Doubles” button 5. Change the settings for 2 players 6. Press “Write for Doubles” There are a few ways to set these setting: 1. Standard settings of the app 2. Update the setting from the Racketclub website 3. From your mobile phone When you installed the app, the values have standard settings, for 1 player and for 2 players. The best settings could also be downloaded from De Racketclub website by pressing the “Reset Single (Web)” and “Reset Doubles (Web)” buttons. The 3rd option is to write and load the settings to/from your mobile phone in a file (P-1.csv for single settings and P-2.csv for doubles settings). At the “Main screen”, you choose for 1 player or 2 players. First the app checks if the settings are already on your mobile phone and, if so, it uses your local settings. If there are no local settings on your phone and the phone has an internet connection, it loads the settings from the Racketclub website. If both values (local and Racketclub) are not available, the app settings will be used. To set the preferred settings, there are some buttons/fields in the app. The “My Single” loads the single settings from your local phone (normally “P-1.csv”), the “My Doubles” loads the double settings from your local phone (normally “P-2.csv”) and shows these in the above listing, the “Write for Single” writes the single settings to your local phone and the “Write for doubles” writes the doubles settings to your local phone. The “Filename” field gives you an opportunity to save/load the settings to a different name than the default name (“P-1.csv” for single and “P-2.csv” for doubles). If you let this field empty, it always uses the default names. The risk is that you might write wrong values to the default files and then it is nice to have a backup file with the right values. The “Reset Single (Web)” loads the single values from De Racketclub website and shows these values in the above listing. The same for the doubles values which are loaded from De Racketclub website with “Reset Doubles (Web)”. A good way to work when you have made your “perfect settings” for 1 and 2 players, is to: 1. Load the Single settings: “My Single” button 2. Enter “Single” in Filename field 3. Press “Write for Single” button (a settings file with name “Single” will then be created on your phone) 4. Load the Doubles settings: “My Doubles” button 5. Enter “Doubles” in Filename field 6. Press “Write for Doubles” button (a settings file with name “Doubles” will then be created on your phone) 7. Then you can see with the “List” button in the Programs part, that there are now also some new files “Single” and “Doubles” on your phone. If you incidentally overwrite your standard settings, you can get it back (for Single) with: List, Press “Single”, My Single, Write for Single. It loads your private stored settings for Single, loads these and then writes to the default settings “P-1.csv”. My Single “My Single” loads the default local settings for 1 player from your phone “P-1.csv” (if no other filename specified in the “Filename field”) and shows these in the above listing. Write for Single “Write for Single” writes the settings for 1 player, of the above listing, to the local phone to the file “P-1.csv” (if no other filename specified in the Filename field). My Doubles “My Doubles” loads the default local settings for 2 players from your phone “P-1.csv” (if no other filename specified in the “Filename field”) and shows these in the above listing. Write for Doubles “Write for Doubles” writes the settings for 2 players, of the above listing, to the local phone to the file “P-2.csv” (if no other filename specified in the Filename field). Reset Single (Web) “Reset Single (Web)” reads the settings for 1 player from De Racketclub website to the above listing. At this moment, the values of De Racketclub are only available in the above listing. If you want to write these to your local phone for 1 player, you need to write these with the “Write for Singles”. Reset Doubles (Web) “Reset Doubles (Web)” reads the settings for 2 players from De Racketclub website to the above listing. At this moment, the values of De Racketclub are only available in the above listing, not on your local phone. If you want to write these to your local phone for 2 players, you need to write these with the “Write for Doubles”. →For specifying other names than the default (for your own backup that won’t be overwritten), the button in the next “Programs” section is useful: “List”. This button shows all your local files on your phone and you can select a file of this list which is then set as “Filename”. See “Programs” section for more information. Programs For loading and storing programs at your mobile phone, you can use some buttons to load the programs from De Racketclub website and store it to your local phone. Or you can save/load the programs in your app at a local file with a specific name (default is “P-programs.csv”). After you made your programs in the Programs screen, these are available on your phone, but not stored as a file on your local phone. You can write specific programs to a filename on your local phone. If you have made programs on your phone for (for example) just 1 player, you can save these in a local file (for example “Programs_1player.csv”), the same for 2 players (for example “Programs_2players.csv”). If you want te use all your programs for 1 player, you can load these in the app from “Programs_1player.csv” and then, in the Programs screen, you can use all programs for 1 player. Read Programs If you press this button, all programs from the default “P-programs.csv” are loaded in the app. If you specified a filename (in Filename field) and press “Read Programs”, the programs from that filename are loaded in the app and can be used in the Programs screen. Write Programs If you press this button, all programs, that are loaded in the app, are written to the default “Pprograms.csv”. If you specified a filename (in Filename field) and press “Write Programs”, the available programs in the app are written to the specified filename in your local phone. Read Racketclub If you press this button, all programs from De Racketclub are loaded in the app and could be used in the Programs screen. List Because settings and programs could be stored on your phone, it is useful to see what files are on your phone for the PadelShooter app. When pressing “List”, a list of local stored files are displayed. If you select one of these files, the name of the file is set in the “Filename” field and can then be used to read the settings or programs of this file (you don’t need to type it by hand ). Examples to work with the Config screen • Load settings from De Racketclub website and store on your local phone 1. Press “Reset Single (Web)”, the “perfect” values, for 1 person play, are loaded from De Racketclub website and are set in the “values listing”. 2. If you later only want to use Bandeja programs in a training, you can then press “List”, select the “Bandeja” file in the list and “Read Programs”. Now only Bandeja programs are loaded on your mobile phone. 8. Problems, Maintenance and Versions Versions Version Machine Version App Details V4 3.5 • Added: no shorter balls when frequency set higher • Changed: “Bandeja-Volley ~” with random nr of high balls • Changed: “Bandeja-Volley” at horizontal random positions • Added, “Save” button on Easy/Mid screen for saving “perfect” settings for future use V4 3.51 • Added: “Bandeja~ – Volley~”, shoots at random horizontal positions, random nr of volleys, random nr of high balls • Changed: extra “speed boost” after every shot to stay shooting at same speed, no matter low/how high frequency is V4 4.4 • Added Limit left % and right % Maintenance Maintenance item Details Clean machine Cleaning the machine can be done with a vacuum cleaner through the ball shot hole (front of machine). After some time, felt, sand and court material will be found in the machine. Especially the court material could stick on the surface of the shooting wheels and in the gears for left/right and up/down movement. To overcome problems, it is good to sometimes remove the court material with a vacuum cleaner. Charge battery Often a battery is the “weakest” part of a ball machine. When regularly charging (also when not using the machine in winter), you enlarge the lifetime of the battery and keeps the “hours working with machine” longer. Shooting wheels When you see that court material will get “glued” on the shooting wheels, you should maintain the wheels. Because the court material gets hot when shooting the balls, it easily get fixed on the surface of the wheels. After short time, that layer on the wheels will get hard and slippery. To overcome ball blocks, you should make the surface of the wheels more rough. This could be done with sand paper or with a (electrical) file. Cleaning with water doesn’t help and is also almost impossible. The wheel surface should be rough to pick up the balls easily. Problems, possible solutions Problem Solution(s) Ball block • Make wheels surface rougher. • Check if a ball felt down during transport to Padelcourt • First remove all balls inside the machine (just behind the shooting wheels) Too many balls in net with some trainings Set the Net Position higher (Config screen, change Net Position for training with that problem, Write for Single/Doubles (depends on the number of players)) After making perfect settings, next time still old settings Make the perfect settings for the training(s), then press “Save” button. Or change the settings permanent in Config screen. The pause between balls is too long/short • Set Frequency higher (for all balls) • Set Pause Level (Config screen, Pause Level, Write for Single/Doubles), only an extra pause after the high ball is added App won’t connect with PadelShooter • Is the Machine turned on? • Is someone else still connected with the machine? • Is Bluetooth turned ON on your mobile phone? • Are you still connected with another Bluetooth device?
